Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville May Soon Partner with Vanderbilt University Medical Center

Agreement signed for VUMC to acquire minority interest in the 270-bed hospital
Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville may soon have a new partner in Vanderbilt University Medical Center. VUMC has signed an agreement with Tennova’s existing minority partner, GHS Holdings, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Clarksville Volunteer Health, Inc., (the “CVH”), to acquire its 20% minority interest in Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville and related physician practices.
The new partnership is expected to build upon the quality care provided at Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. Formal partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center and its highly specialized, advanced levels of medicine, including cardiology, oncology and pediatrics, will create opportunities to expand and enhance local medical resources for Clarksville, Montgomery County and the surrounding region.
The Board of Directors of CVH worked in concert with Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville executives to foster this new partnership with VUMC.
“CVH works closely with the Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Health Foundation. Their number one priority is the improved health of Clarksville-Montgomery County residents. CVH provides monies distributed by Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville to the Clarksville Foundation, which then uses the monies to fund grants for a wide range of local health care initiatives. The Vanderbilt partnership will enhance the clinical scope that Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville can provide by expanding the network of medical specialties currently not available,” commented Bill Wyatt, CVH Board Chairman.
The two providers are already collaborating on oncology and neonatal intensive care in the community. Oncologists and a multidisciplinary team from Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center provide cancer care at the Gateway-Vanderbilt Cancer Treatment Center. And Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville’s Level 2B newborn intensive care unit is serviced by Vanderbilt University Medical Center neonatologists who provide care for pre-term babies born at 32 weeks gestation or greater.

Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville and its employees and medical staff will remain a part of the Tennova network of hospitals. The transaction is expected to be complete by the end of this year, subject to regulatory review and closing conditions.
