Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville Announces New NICU Medical Director

Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Kristin Veneman, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), as the new medical director for Tennova’s Level II neonatal intensive care unit and nursery.
Dr. Kristin Veneman was recruited by VUMC to lead the NICU and nursery at Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville*. Dr. Veneman was raised in Murfreesboro and was thrilled to be able to come back to Tennessee after many years away. She completed medical training at Des Moines University in Iowa, and pediatric residency at Greenville Children’s Hospital in South Carolina before opening her own private practice in general pediatrics in Whitefish, Montana. Her love of infant care ultimately led her to pursue subspecialty training at Penn State-Hershey. Returning to Montana, she has spent the last seven years running the Level III NICU in Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Veneman succeeds Dr. Brad Stancombe, professor of clinical pediatrics at Vanderbilt who has served for 25 years as the medical director of the Level II NICU within Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. Dr. Stancombe’s meticulous attention to detail and dedication to training his team have allowed the hospital’s NICU to flourish over the years, helping local families access this critical service close to home. He will maintain privileges on the Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville medical staff.
