Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville Announces New NICU Medical Director

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn., June 25, 2025 - Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville has announced the appointment of pediatric neonatologist Dr. Diane M. Attardi, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), as the medical director for Tennova’s Level II neonatal intensive care unit and nursery, where more than 200 babies are cared for each year.

Dr. Attardi has a long history of service to NICU babies as a neonatologist and NICU medical director throughout the Northeast. She is dedicated to promoting breast milk as the best nutrition for all babies and was instrumental in bringing the Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee Milk Drop Depot to Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. Mothers’ Milk Bank of Tennessee provides safe, pasteurized donor human milk to the most vulnerable babies.

A member and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Attardi has been published in neonatology publications and served as a mentor to medical students, pediatric residents, neonatology fellows, and other students entering the medical field. She is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She received her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Dr. Attardi’s neonatal-perinatal fellowship was completed at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, also in Philadelphia. She serves the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine as assistant professor of clinical pediatrics.
