Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville Honors Physicians on National Doctors’ Day
3/28/2023
Clarksville, Tenn. (March 28, 2023) – As the country celebrates National Doctors’ Day on March 30, Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville is grateful for the more than 400 physicians who work in our hospital, offices and clinics to serve the people of Clarksville and Middle Tennessee. We celebrate and honor each physician’s commitment to medicine, their patients and the community. Be it a primary care doctor fresh out of residency or a veteran surgeon who continues to hone skills by adopting the latest technology, we thank you.
Their knowledge and skills helped us deliver care for the more than 89,000 patients who visited our Emergency Room and the more than 10,000 who were admitted last year. 2,100 babies were delivered, 10,000 surgeries were performed and a myriad of other medical concerns were addressed. Doctors on our medical staff have been steadfast partners supporting the safety and wellness of patients and our community.
“Physicians play a key role in their patients’ lifelong health and well-being,” says Drew Emery, chief executive officer, Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville. “They have extensive knowledge of their patients’ individual health histories, experiences and areas of concern or health goals. They work collaboratively with each patient to help achieve and maintain good health, through all stages of life.”
National Doctors’ Day was first observed on March 30, 1933, spearheaded by Eudora Brown Almond, a physician’s wife who wished to set aside a day to honor her husband and other physicians. March 30 is also significant among the medical community because it marks the anniversary of the first surgery using anesthesia.
Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville is fortunate to have a skilled medical staff in our hospital and more physicians in the larger community. Today we acknowledge their contributions, sacrifices, skills and unwavering concern for patients. On this National Doctors’ Day, please join us in thanking the physicians in our community.
